Time for the Doctor at Sea

Lifestyle

Following the successful passing of his medical exams Simon Sparrow is a successful young Doctor. This was the second in the Doctor series that was to become a big hit at the British box office. This was the heyday of the British film industry as it desperately tried to compete, and failed, with Hollywood. This time Dr Sparrow takes a role onboard a Transatlantic Cargo ship to escape some unwanted romantic intentions that would make his life deeply complicated. However he finds that he has jumped from the frying pan into the fire when he comes across the rambunctious and easily angered Captain of the ship, Wentworth Hogg (played by James Robertson Justice in a different role).

Sparrow is deeply affected by Sea sickness but eventually finds his sea legs and begins to enjoy life aboard. He may want to brush up on his skills by studying some Clinical Training Courses like those from www.tidaltraining.co.uk/clinical-training-courses on the trip. As this is set in 1955 it would take several weeks to reach South America.

Landing in Brazil, Simon intends to enjoy himself but his plans are scuppered when he meets Hélène Colbert, played by Brigette Bardot in her first English speaking role. They soon fall in love. Hogg meanwhile is pursued by the daughter of the shipping company who basically offers him everything if they get married. Although Hélène initially spuns Simon’s offer of marriage the two reconcile when Simon decides to travel with her back to Rio and start a life together.
